Autumn, Winter and Spring Learning
Circles
A Learning Circle consists of up to eight people who come together
for the purpose of support, personal growth and learning. We meet
twice a month for three months – a total of 6 sessions. A
new Circle forms each September, January and May. People are invited
to recommit or to leave the group at that time.
At its heart, a Circle is a healing community. As such, sometimes
it may feel like a support group, sometimes like a therapy group,
and sometimes it may seem more like an educational group. The atmosphere
will be engaging and enjoyable, a balance of growth, fun and connection.
There will be balance of structure and spontaneity.
Each meeting will begin with a brief guided meditation and check-in.
Based on the interests and needs of group members, Circle meetings
may be structured to include any of the following:
- Time for you to integrate and get support for steps you are
taking/challenges you are facing in your life
- Group exercises on a relevant theme, such as boundaries, assertiveness
or intimacy
- Exploration of a specific topic such as eating and body image,
or learning to work with dreams.
- An opportunity to practice Focusing and deep listening with
a partner and receive feedback
I will draw on my background in the art therapy, movement therapy,
creative journaling, dream analysis, Focusing, Gestalt and imagery
to provide group exercises as a way to learn about ourselves and
others.
